Post #10 

Everyone did a fantastic job on their presentations and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Pantheon! 
Sun Wukong (Alex)-From the presentation, I learned that Sun Wukong is very prominent in China and that he has his own festival celebrated on the sixteenth day of the eighth lunar month of the Chinese calendar.
Guan-Yin (Jaci)-From the presentation, I learned that Guan-Yin possesses the powers to shape shift into any creature in order to feel closer to whoever she is protecting. 
Komorkis (Ania)-From the presentation, I learned that Komorkis is associated with many different animals and is very relevant in Native American culture. 
Sekhmet (Reagan)-From the presentation, I learned that Sekhmet is credited with being the creator of the desert using her fiery breath.
Hathor (Ciarra)-From the presentation, I learned that Hathor was first depicted as a cow, then a woman with a cow head, and finally she was seen as a beautiful woman with cow horns and a moon disk in-between. 
Xi-Wangmu (Grace)-From the presentation, I learned that Xi-Wangmu is the designated keeper of the tree that grows the peaches of immortality. 
Nut (Rachel)-From the presentation, I learned that the curse that was put on Nut where she could only give birth on five days of the year was how the Egyptian calendar was extended to 365 days.
Thor (Cody)-From the presentation, I learned that Mjollnir wasn't Thor's only weapon; he additionally had a belt and iron gloves.
Loki (Hunter)-From the presentation, I learned that Loki actually was a giant and had to haggle his way into becoming a God.
Odin (Jake)-From the presentation, I learned that Odin was not the first to exist, and that he actually has two brothers, a grandfather and a father.
Ma'at (Franci)-From the presentation, I learned that Ma'at was the Goddess that judged the deads' hearts with her ostrich feather.
Artemis (Shaina)-From the presentation, I learned that Artemis's were surprisingly Hera and Aphrodite.
Pandora (Emily W)-From the presentation, I learned that Pandora was the first mortal woman and that opening her box unleashed chaos into the world.
Jade Emperor (Bridget)-From the presentation, I learned that the Jade Emperor was a sign of good fortune and that he is named Jade Emperor because Jade is said to be lucky.
Freyja (Kayla)-From the presentation, I learned that even today, some Norse Gods are still worshipped today, like Freyja in Scandinavia.
Glispa (Traci)-From the presentation, I learned that the Navajo people celebrated Glispa as a healer and she would teach them ways of healing.
Rhea (Emily B)-From the presentation, I learned that lions are seen as protectors and watch over the earth for Rhea, as she feels very close to them.
Chang'e (Jade)-From the presentation, I learned that it is believed that Chang'e drank a full bottle of elixir that sent her to the moon, causing her to be associated with moons.
Balder (Allie)-From the presentation, I learned that the bane of Balder was mistletoe, as when he was being protected by the doing of his mother mistletoe was not accounted for.
